Inside the thinking and decisions of those who keep life moving.
MEET VERONICA
VERONICA SAFOA OWUSU, HOST OF THE UTILITY EXECUTIVE PODCAST, FOUNDER OF V-POWER EXECUTIVE COACHING AND CREATOR OF THE GOLD-DUST THINKING FIELD FRAMEWORK.
Veronica Safoa Owusu is an award-winning Executive Recalibration Coach, strategic thinking partner and trusted adviser to CEOs, executive directors and senior leaders carrying responsibility for people, performance, public trust and the essential systems that keep everyday life moving.
She is the host of The Utility Executive Podcast, where she goes inside the thinking and decisions of the people responsible for water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure and other essential services upon which communities depend.
Through honest, thought-provoking conversations, Veronica explores what happens behind the visible service: the competing pressures, human realities, difficult trade-offs and long-term consequences shaping the decisions made by utility executives today.
Veronica is the creator of the Gold-Dust Thinking Field™, a proprietary approach that helps senior leaders recalibrate how they think and decide under chronic pressure.
Her work is grounded in a simple but powerful belief:
Thinking is only as good as the field it is given.
When fear, urgency, fatigue, political scrutiny or organisational pressure begins to narrow that field, even the most capable leaders can become reactive, overextended or disconnected from their clearest judgment.
Veronica creates trusted spaces in which executives can pause, examine what is shaping their thinking, widen the field of possibility and make decisions with greater clarity, alignment and integrity.
Her work has supported leaders and organisations connected to UNIDO, the NHS, Porsche Centre Preston, Louisville and Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District, and other public, private and international institutions.
She currently works closely with executives across utilities and essential services, helping them navigate the pressures of infrastructure investment, affordability, service continuity, workforce wellbeing, organisational trust and the responsibility of making decisions that affect communities for generations.
Veronica’s work extends beyond conventional executive coaching.
Drawing on more than 15 years in education, a Master’s degree in Educational Sciences and her experience as an instructional designer, master teacher, facilitator and strategic adviser, she brings together human behaviour, nervous-system awareness, structured thinking, decision quality and embodied presence.
She is known for creating spaces that are both intellectually rigorous and deeply human.
Spaces where senior leaders do not have to perform certainty.
Where difficult truths can be examined without judgment.
Where competing perspectives can be held without rushing towards a convenient answer.
And where clarity can emerge from presence rather than pressure.
Veronica has received the CREA Global Award 2026, was recognised among the Top 50 Most Impactful Leaders on LinkedIn, and has been honoured for her contribution to leadership, education and human development at the Africa–UK Business Conference.
She is also President of Educational Communities Worldwide, a keynote speaker, author and international facilitator whose work has reached leaders, educators, entrepreneurs and communities across multiple countries.
But behind the accolades is the quality for which Veronica is perhaps best known: her ability to help people return to themselves.
Her approach is serious without becoming rigid, reflective without losing commercial relevance and deeply human without avoiding accountability.
Through The Utility Executive Podcast, Veronica is building a space where utility executives, operational leaders, regulators, experts, workers and communities can move beyond the visible system and examine the thinking, relationships and decisions behind it.
At the heart of every conversation is one enduring question:
How do we think and decide in service of the lives that depend on us?

Before a decision is ever spoken aloud, the conditions surrounding our thinking have already begun shaping what we notice, what we believe, and what feels possible. 7 Signs Your Capability Has Become a Coping Mechanism
Capability is often praised in leadership. The leader who gets things done, who can carry pressure, who delivers under impossible timelines, who notices what others miss, and the one who can solve, decide, execute, and keep moving.
From the outside, it looks like strength. Sometimes, it is. Capability matters. Competence matters. High performance matters. Leaders must be able to think, decide, lead, and deliver. But after coaching executives, facilitating leadership recalibration sessions, holding deep private conversations, and working closely with high stakes decision makers, I have noticed something important.

Why We Make Poor Decisions Under Pressure and How to Restore Clarity
In August 2012, Knight Capital lost over $460 million in less than an hour due to a trading software failure. Years earlier, the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster revealed how communication breakdowns.
Where decisions really begin
Most of us have been trained to think decisions happen in boardrooms, meeting rooms, crisis rooms, courtrooms, or around kitchen tables when life gets real.
